We’ve made three key director appointments:

David Holmes, who has been with the business since 2010 has been promoted to Director of Information Technology; Danielle Kerr who joined as a divisional accountant in 2016 has been promoted to Finance Director of Scott Pallets’ Reconditioned business unit; and Billy McIntosh, who also joined in 2016 as a group accountant, has been promoted to the role of Finance Director of the Scott Pallets’ Manufacturing business unit.

Norman Scott, owner and Group Operations Director at Scott Group, said: “We have more than 1,300 employees throughout the UK, and we’re proud to employ many of the best people in the industry. As we continue to expand our range of sustainable pallet solutions, and organically grow our business year on year, we’ll be continuing to recruit so it’s vital we build on the strength of our business units by finding and retaining talented, tenacious and customer focussed people.“

“Our IT and finance departments are absolutely critical to how we work with our customers – helping to drive efficiency, and ensure we are easy to do business with. These three new director appointments demonstrate the huge opportunities for career progression within our business. We’re delighted to have them on board and thank them for their hard work and commitment.”

Following a successful recruitment campaign during 2021, Scott Group filled 126 vacancies throughout the UK across a wide variety of roles from HGV drivers and general operatives to finance and HR.

In tandem with this, the business continued to invest in new capital equipment such as a Cape tandem pallet manufacturing machine at its Barry site, and a Cekamon reconditioned pallet sorting machine at the Bathgate.  In response to the increased demand for heat-treated pallets as a result of Brexit, it has also been adding to its kiln capacity throughout its nationwide network of pallet manufacturing sites with two new kilns installed during 2021 and a further four in planning.
