Coronavirus Covid-19 Update

Coronavirus Covid-19 Update

Please find below an update regarding our current position in respect of the impact of Coronavirus COVID-19.

Firstly, we hope our staff and their families, and also those of our suppliers, partners and customers remain safe throughout this unprecedented challenge. Like most, we do have affected individuals self-isolating across our business, and we continue to support them and wish them a speedy recovery.

In line with current Government guidance, including the advice sought and received by some of our representative trade bodies, Scott Group businesses continue to trade under key worker and essential business definitions. Our business is almost exclusively the provision of pallets, packaging and cleaning, hygiene and personal protective clothing and equipment into:

Transport:  This includes those who will keep the air, water, road and rail passenger and freight transport modes operating during the COVID-19 response, including those working on transport systems through which supply chains pass.

Food and other necessary goods:  This includes those involved in food production, processing, distribution, sale and delivery as well as those essential to the provision of other vital products (for example hygienic and veterinary medicines).

Health and social care: This includes but is not limited to doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics, social workers, care workers, and other frontline health and social care staff including volunteers; the support and specialist staff required to maintain the UK’s health and social care sector; those working as part of the health and social care supply chain, including producers and distributors of medicines and medical and personal protective equipment.

Our sites remain operational. We have adjusted our work practices to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, who have shown incredible resilience. Their safety is paramount at all times. We have taken steps including changes to work patterns, social distancing measures and improved cleaning regimes.

We are continually monitoring the situation within our supply chain and our customer base. It is highly likely that one of our team will have been in touch with you already to understand your situation (if this is not the case, please contact us). Ongoing adjustments to our operations will occur to take account of this knowledge.

Should you have any further concerns, please contact us via your usual site contact.
