HLC has successfully secured a scope extension to its FSC status to include mixed credits from certification body Exova (previously TRADA).
Having a multi-site mixed credit FSC status means that we are able to offer a specific percentage (currently around 60%) of our total pallet output to our customers as fully FSC certified pallets, including those made from Baltic timber, which was not previously usable in an FSC pallet.
HLC is the first company in the UK to achieve the certification to the new 2017 standard.
This new system, which requires all of our timber to be either FSC certified or to meet FSC approved ‘controlled-wood’ status, means we can change specifications, manufacturing location, add new pallets for our customers at any time, and still offer a fully certified pallet.
The certification extends across Burton, Needham, Norfolk and Peterborough manufacturing sites.
