Management Accountant.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant at our Head Office, Dunfermline.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Preparing detailed management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) from multiple site information on time (periodic / quarterly)
  • Preparation of Monthly, Periodic and Quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assistance with preparation & analysis of periodic group board reports
  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • To assist in the preparation of budget consolidation for distribution (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Funds Flow )
  • Preparing flash management accounts
  • Preparing rolling forecasts
  • Intercompany Reconciliation’s


  • To ensure all Intrastat, ONS reports are prepared on-time & accurately
  • To ensure the Vat returns are prepared accurately and all payments due are submitted on time.
  • Preparing summary financial and statistical reports as required
  • To support the group finance team with the review of statutory accounts
  • To assist the Group finance team, tax advisors & auditors by providing all information required for the corporation tax assessments and reviewing the Corporation Tax Return.
  • To provide ad hoc management information and support to business heads & group finance.
  • To present summary detail in a simple straightforward format.
  • To provide analysis on due diligence information as required.
  • To develop & provide competitor & industry analysis as required.

Treasury Support (To provide ad-hoc cover)

  • Operating bank accounts
  • Reconciliation of the Asset Based Lending Reports & Reconciliations
  • Preparing cash flow reporting

Team Work

  • To problem solve and implement improved systems/procedures
  • To travel to other sites where site / company visits are required.
  • To add value to the team through the provision of information

Performance Measures

  • Adherence to reporting calendar
  • Accuracy of management accounts
  • Timeliness, accuracy and presentation of ad hoc reports
  • Improvement in the relevant companies finance processes and procedures.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working at Management Accountant Level
  • Understanding of indirect tax & reporting including, VAT/Intrastat and ONS
  • Competent working with ERP & Finance Systems, Navision and Sage 50 would be advantageous
  • Experience of dealing with professional advisors audit / tax would be advantageous

Technical – Qualifications/Key skills

  • Part /Qualified accountant in ACCA or CIMA or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of modern ERP & IT systems, Navision
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Competent working with ERP & Finance Systems, Navision and Sage 50 would be advantageous
  • Experience of dealing with professional advisors audit / tax would be advantageous
  • Experience of Payroll related postings and reconciliations would be advantageous
