From whisky to construction, and packaging to chemicals, our pallets are used by businesses in every industrial sector throughout the UK, to safely and sustainably transport their goods throughout the global supply chain .

We have an opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for transporting timber between company sites and customers. This job requires you to be customer focused and to ensure all documentation from deliveries is completed in the correct manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive category C+E vehicles safely, legally and efficiently are required.
  • Comply with all Driver hours and Road Transport Directive legislation.
  • Load and unload vehicle, maintaining safety and security of loads at all times.
  • Carry out necessary check to ensure vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedure.
  • Act as an ambassador when dealing with customers.
  • Complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as required (POD).
  • Plan and adapt routes as necessary and feedback to the office on any issues around load planning.
  • Operate all vehicle/trailer systems in the appropriate manner.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Communicate with site and the customer on delivery and allocation.
  • Understand our company products and its different specifications.

Personal Specifications

  • Experience of driving an HGV Class 1.
  • Flat bed strapping experience an advantage.
  • Knowledge of driver’s hours legislation, tachograph procedures and road traffic law.
  • Demonstrate route planning and map reading ability.
  • Knowledge of load security and restraint procedures.
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours.
  • Can be required to spend 1-2 nights away at times.
