It’s an exciting time in the HR Function, we have a new People Strategy for our growing business. We have an opportunity for an experienced Learning & Development professional to join our business. Reporting directly to the Group HR Director, you will have responsibility for diagnosing and delivering learning and development solutions for Group businesses. Creating commercial interventions that enable colleagues and new talent with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required.

This is a challenging and exciting role that requires an individual to support the delivery of the people strategy by developing a completely new learning & development infrastructure. This role will partner the business leaders to identify training priorities, deliver key projects and develop internal training delivery capability.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, pragmatic and creative L&D generalist to work from the “hands on” to the strategic, partnering with external organisations to develop the L&D offer and culture. Comfortable with project management, learning design, facilitating training, managing talent entry programmers and digital learning this role will be an integral part of the HR Function.

A strong track record of business partnering, successful design & delivery of development initiatives, facilitation and coaching skills, as well as experience of digital learning is required.

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate the achievement of formal qualifications within Learning & Development and/or HR as well as being able to evidence continuous professional development.

Ideally you will have experience in a multi-site, customer focused business, with an operational focus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the delivery of the People Strategy and deliver the people development goals so that improvements are achieved over the 3-5 year strategy period.
  • Build and maintain business partnering relationships with the business leadership and HR teams to establish L&D function and development requirements.
  • Communicate and implement the Group Training Plans so that training initiatives are consistently delivered in line with set timescales and buy-in to the training agenda is achieved.
  • Design and manage the delivery of Group and business colleague induction and job skills training programmes, ensuring recording through the business HR system
  • Develop and implement smart multi -channel learning & development intervention products, which engage colleagues and deliver individual performance improvement
  • Design and manage, commercially sustainable key talent entry programmes, (including apprenticeships) maximising qualifications and funding opportunities, to support business succession planning and talent pipelining
  • Facilitation of training events for all levels of colleagues and locations
  • Provide 1:1 coaching for leaders, managers and learners to support development & learning outcomes
  • Review MI data to track performance delivery of training programmes and take any corrective action to ensure programmes are delivering required outcomes.
  • Co-ordinate the continuous evaluation of training initiatives, providing feedback and key learnings, so that key decisions & recommendations can be made to continuously improve the business benefits.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, funding sources, awarding bodies and statutory regulators as required
  • Continuously maintain expert knowledge and ensure HR Team members are upskilled
